CIPC Company Registration
Reg No: 2019/632522/08
Tetelestai Recovery Centre registered as a legal entity with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission.
Media outlets and Sgt. Khanyase claimed Tetelestai Recovery Centre was unregistered and lacked qualified professionals. The documentary record — including government registrations, inspection reports, and correspondence sent to every journalist who requested information — proves otherwise.
Despite TRC providing full registration certificates, professional qualifications, and DOH inspection documentation to journalists and investigators who requested information, media continued reporting that the facility was unregistered and staffed by unqualified personnel.
At the 9 July 2025 bail hearing, Sgt. Khanyase testified under oath that TRC had "no nurses, no psychologists, no doctors" and "nobody properly or fully qualified with credentials." When defence counsel presented certificates to the contrary, Khanyase admitted his information came solely from patient witnesses — not from DSD, DOH, or any official verification.
The Department of Health's own investigation (July 2025) visited the facility, conducted a walkabout, and requested staff qualification records — confirming TRC was a registered, operating rehabilitation centre with professional personnel.

Defence counsel at the bail hearing: "I have certificates, a number of certificates there, with accreditation of the individuals who are employed there, professionals. So who gives you this information?" — Defence Attorney Mkhize to Sgt. Khanyase, 9 July 2025 Bail Hearing [REF-024]
Khanyase's response when asked who told him there were no professionals: "It is the witnesses." — Sgt. Khanyase, 9 July 2025 Bail Hearing — admitted he did not verify with DSD, DOH, or facility management
The Department of Health investigator who cleared TRC of wrongdoing in Luke Edwards' death also requested and reviewed staff qualification records during his facility visit.
Nicholus Khumalo's investigation report requested the following staff documentation — confirming the DOH treated TRC as a legitimate registered facility with professional personnel:
The DOH investigator was "received well" and "taken on a walkabout around the facility" — conduct inconsistent with an unregistered or non-compliant operation.
